Our Mentor, Father, and a Legal Luminary
Our father Late Shri R.S. Walia (Ranjit Singh Walia) was not merely a mentor to us, but an institution in himself. A distinguished Advocate with over 55 years of dedicated practice, he was one of the leading lawyers of Chandigarh, particularly renowned for his expertise in civil law and litigation.
A man of unwavering principles, exceptional sincerity, and the highest ethical standards, he believed that integrity was the very foundation of the legal profession. His professional competence, meticulous preparation, persuasive and aggressive arguments and steadfast commitment to justice made him one of the most sought-after advocates and the first choice of countless clients.
Over the course of his illustrious career, he represented several eminent politicians, High Court judges, and distinguished members of society, earning their trust and respect through his knowledge, discretion, and professional integrity.
Beyond his formidable professional reputation, he was admired for the values he lived by and the example he set. To those who had the privilege of working with him or learning from him, he was a source of guidance, wisdom, and inspiration.
His legacy extends far beyond the cases he argued or the years he practised. He lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he touched, and the enduring affection and respect in which he is held by his colleagues, clients, and all who knew him. He remains, above all, our father, our guiding light, and our lifelong mentor.
